ST7-1.40.90.6 Camera Housing Rubber Seal Contact Analysis
Underwater cameras must be designed to be waterproof to a certain depth. Camera housings are designed with rubber seals which protect the camera from getting wet. Rubber seals in contact with several surfaces can be analysed in Strand7.
In this Webnote, 2D CAD geometry of a seal and housing is imported and automeshed to produce a finite element model of the contact situation, which is critical to avoid leakage.
