Intersecting pipes

A pressure vessel with a doubler plate welded around the nozzle intersection. The weld around the boundary, and the contact surface are modelled. The image on the right shows the applied pressure as a contour. Note that the doubler plate, which is located on the outside of the main cylinder, does not have a pressure.

Von Mises stresses show the stress concentration around the weld.
