Beam Attributes: Heat Flux

Description

Assigns a heat flux to selected ends of beam elements.

Applicable only to heat transfer analysis.

Models uniform heat flow through the cross section of the beam end. A positive flux indicates heat flowing out of the element. A negative flux indicates heat flowing in.

The heat flux can be scaled as a function of time and/or temperature.

Heat flux attributes are load case dependent.

Value

End heat flux.

May be positive or negative.

Factor vs Time table

A table that scales heat flux as a function of time.

Applicable only to the transient heat solver.

Factor vs Temperature table

A table that scales heat flux as a function of temperature.

Applicable only to nonlinear heat transfer analysis.
