Properties Tab
External Diameter
External diameter of the circular pipe.
Units are Length (e.g., mm, in).
Wall Thickness
Constant wall thickness of circular pipe.
The internal diameter is computed based on the external diameter and the wall thickness.
Units are Length (e.g., mm, in).
Flexibility Factor
Factor that scales the bending stiffness of the pipe element.
The second moment of area is divided by the flexibility factor, as long as the factor is non-zero. A factor larger than one results in a more flexible pipe, while a factor less than one but greater than zero results in a stiffer pipe. A value of zero will be ignored (i.e., it is equivalent to one).
Dimensionless.
Fluid Density
Density of internal fluid in the pipe. The inside of the pipe is assumed to be completely filled by fluid of the specified density.
This parameter affects only the mass of the pipe.
Units are Mass/Volume (e.g., kg/m3, lb/in3).
