Description
Node Restraints
Straus7 exports node restraints using the D command. User-defined coordinate systems referenced by node restraints are defined by the ANSYS nodal coordinate system.
Node Forces
Straus7 exports node forces using the F command. Node force values are specified in terms of the ANSYS nodal coordinate system.
Node Moments
Straus7 exports node moments using the F command. Node moment values are specified in terms of the ANSYS nodal coordinate system.
Node Temperatures
Straus7 exports fixed and table node temperatures using the D command, and initial node temperatures using the BF command.
Node Masses
Straus7 exports node non-structural masses, node translational masses and node rotational masses by defining a structural mass element of type MASS21 using the ET command and associated element option keys. The node non-structural mass and node translational/rotational mass attributes are combined at each node and the corresponding user-defined coordinate system specified by the nodal coordinate system (the element coordinate system references the nodal coordinate system).
Node Heat Sources
Straus7 exports node heat source attributes using the BF command.
Beam Tapers
Straus7 exports tapered beams as an average section using the SECTYPE, SECDATA, SECREAD and SECOFFSET commands for beam section data.
Beam Loads
Straus7 exports beam pre-tension attributes using the ISTRESS command for the Batch formats only. The beam pre-tension attribute is exported for truss and beam elements corresponding to ANSYS element types LINK180 and BEAM188.
Straus7 exports beam local distributed forces, beam global distributed forces and beam pipe pressures using the SFBEAM command. The beam local distributed force attribute is exported for beam elements only, whilst beam global distributed force and beam pipe pressure attributes are exported for pipe elements only. All beam distributed forces are resolved into equivalent single trapezoidal distributed forces for each beam and load direction.
Plate Loads
Straus7 exports plate pre-stress attributes using the ISTRESS command for the Batch formats only. The plate pre-stress attribute is exported for plate elements corresponding to ANSYS element types PLANE82, SHELL181, SHELL281, PLANE182 and PLANE183.
Straus7 exports plate face normal pressure, plate edge pressure, plate convection, plate radiation and plate heat flux attributes using the SFE command.
Straus7 exports plate heat source attributes using the BFE command.
Straus7 converts and exports plate face global pressure, plate face shear stress, plate edge shear stress and plate edge normal shear stress as node forces using the F command.
Brick Loads
Straus7 exports brick pre-stresses using the ISTRESS command for the Batch formats only. The brick pre stress attribute is exported for brick elements corresponding to ANSYS element types SOLID185, SOLID186 and SOLID187.
Straus7 exports brick face normal pressure, brick convection, brick radiation and brick heat flux attributes using the SFE command.
Straus7 exports brick heat source attributes using the BFE command.
Straus7 converts and exports brick face global pressure and brick face shear stress as node forces using the F command.
Accumulation of Restrained Degrees of Freedom and Loads
Straus7 exports the DCUM, FCUM, SFCUM, BFCUM and BFECUM commands for all load labels with the accumulation key set to ADD to specify accumulation of restrained degrees of freedom and loads.
Pre Load Attributes
Pre-load attributes are not load case dependent in ANSYS. Straus7 exports beam pre-tension/pre-strain, plate pre-stress/pre-strain and brick pre-stress/pre-strain attributes in accordance with the selected Pre-load/Non Structural Mass Load Case.
Node Non-Structural Mass Attributes
Node non-structural masses are not load case dependent in ANSYS. Straus7 exports node non-structural mass attributes in accordance with the selected Pre-load/Non Structural Mass Load Case.
Factor vs Time and Factor vs Temperature Tables
Straus7 exports attribute assigned Factor vs Time and Factor vs Temperature tables as array parameters of array type TABLE and primary variables TIME and TEMP respectively. Array parameters are exported using the *DIM command and the "=" convention for setting the parameter values. Factor vs Time and Factor vs Temperature tables are exported for the node temperature, plate and brick convection, plate and brick radiation, plate and brick heat flux, and plate and brick heat source attributes. ANSYS does not allow a Factor vs Time and Factor vs Temperature table to be assigned by the same attribute (e.g., plate convection coefficient). In this instance, the Factor vs Time table takes precedence over the Factor vs Temperature table. Table names are modified in accordance with ANSYS parameter naming conventions.
