Import ANSYS File: Constraints

Description

ANSYS uses D to assign structural and temperature degree of freedom constraints to nodes according to the nodal coordinate systems. Straus7 assigns the structural constraints as node restraint attributes, and temperature constraints as fixed node temperature attributes.

ANSYS uses DCUM to specify the accumulation method for constraint values. Straus7 references the accumulation method when constraints are applied to degrees of freedom of nodes which have been previously assigned a value.

ANSYS uses DSCALE to scale previously defined constraint values in the node set defined by NSEL. Straus7 applies the scaling factor to node restraint and node temperature attributes assigned to the nodes defined by the current node set.

ANSYS uses DOFSEL to select the active degrees of freedom available for constraint assignment. The full degree of freedom set is determined from the element degrees of freedom specified by the declared element types. Straus7 references the active degree of freedom set when constraints are applied.

ANSYS uses DSYM to assign symmetry or anti-symmetry degree of freedom constraints to nodes contained within the node set defined by NSEL according to the nodal coordinate systems. Straus7 assigns the structural constraints as node restraint attributes.

Rotational Degrees of Freedom

ANSYS defines rotational degrees of freedom values in radians.

Time Varying Values

Straus7 allows a temperature degree of freedom constraint to be assigned with a tabular boundary condition of array type TABLE and primary variable TIME. The node temperature attribute is assigned as a table node temperature with a Temperature vs Time table.
