Distributed and Point Forces /Moments
Straus7 assigns all distributed moments according to the beam principal axes system, where SAP2000 global directions X, Y and Z are assumed to correspond with SAP2000 beam local axes directions 2, 1 and 3 respectively. For the SAP2000 frame section ANGLE, all distributed forces and point forces/moments are assigned as global axes system attributes.
Beam Temperatures
Straus7 assumes a uniform beam temperature distribution for frame temperatures, and assigns fixed node temperatures for each node as an averaged nodal value.
Plate Attributes
SAP2000 uses Tables: "AREA LOADS - SURFACE PRESSURE" to define an area surface pressure. Straus7 posts these area surface pressures as plate normal face pressure and edge pressure attributes.
SAP2000 uses Tables: "AREA LOADS - UNIFORM" to define an area uniform pressure. Straus7 posts these area uniform pressures as plate global face pressure attributes.
SAP2000 uses Tables: "AREA SPRING ASSIGNMENTS" to define an area spring stiffness. Straus7 posts these area spring stiffness values as plate face support and plate edge support attributes.
SAP2000 uses Tables: "AREA ADDED MASS ASSIGNMENTS" to define area added masses. Straus7 posts these area added masses as plate face non-structural mass attributes.
SAP2000 uses Tables: "AREA LOADS - TEMPERATURE" to define area temperatures and temperature gradients. Straus7 posts the area temperatures as node fixed temperature attributes, and area temperature gradients as plate temperature gradient attributes.
SAP2000 uses Tables: "AREA LOADS - UNIFORM TO FRAME" to define an area uniform pressure to plate element with small stiffness. The load is transferred to the underlying frame via the DistType="One way" and "Two way" keywords. Straus7 posts these area uniform pressures as plate global face pressure attributes and assigns load patch type attributes to the plate/shell element to reflect the DistType keywords. To consider the load patch type attributes, the plate/shell property must be changed to load patch property manually under Global: Plate Properties.
