ST7-R3.20.40.2 Developing a Rubber Material Model
Rubber material exhibits nonlinear stress-strain behaviour. Unlike metals, this material nonlinearity does not produce permanent strain after unloading, meaning that the behaviour is elastic. Additionally, rubber exhibits near incompressibility, with Poisson’s ratio approaching 0.5. Strand7 provides various nonlinear elastic material models for rubber (hyperelastic materials), which consider this behaviour.
