ST7-R3.20.40.6 Setting Up a Soil Analysis
Strand7 offers five soil material models that can be used to perform soil-structure analysis. Due to the nonlinear stress-strain response of soil, analysis with these materials requires a Strand7 solver that considers material nonlinearity – MNL (i.e., Nonlinear Static, Quasi-static or Nonlinear Transient Dynamic solver). This Webnote presents the steps to define soil-specific properties and attributes, to set up the solvers, and to extract soil-based results.
