ST7-1.40.20.7 Progressive Lift of a Weighted Mooring Line
The anchor of a 40' boat is set and the boat is subjected to wind load. The anchor rode consists of 5/8" three-strand Nylon and 5/16" Proof Coil steel chain (1.09 lb/ft). Some 5.0 lbs sinkers have been added to the chain to help keep the pull horizontal. The objective is to determine the required wind force on the boat to lift the chain off the seabed.
